I am a glaciologist and climate scientist interested in using satellite data, remote sensing, and numerical modeling to investigate and monitor changing mountain glacier snowline fluctuations and snow cover.

Mountain glaciers are disappearing at an unprecedented rate and are vital freshwater sources for many people worldwide, supplying water for drinking, agriculture, hydropower, and ecosystems. Current projections suggest that by 2100, nearly half of all glaciers could vanish entirely, with severe consequences for water security in glacier-fed regions. However, these projections carry large uncertainties, in part because the global reference dataset for glacier area often has reference date of 2000, creating complications in both past estimates and forward projections. My research aims to address this gap to improve how real-world glacier observations and past reconstructions are incorporated into predictions of future ice loss.
